If you're interested in getting the Iron Countershade shader in Destiny 2, look no further! This special shader adds a cool chainmail texture to your armor, giving you a knightly or Medieval-inspired look. In this article, we'll explain how to obtain this shader and provide you with helpful tips to make your journey a success.
To unlock the shader, you need to follow a specific progression path within the Iron Banner event. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of what you need to do:
Reset Your Rank: To start your quest for the shader, you must first reset your Iron Banner rank. This means reaching the maximum 16 rank and then resetting it to start from scratch.
The Grind Begins: Resetting your rank may seem like a big task, but don't worry! We're here to help you through the process. However, keep in mind that this season of Banner lasts for only 2 weeks. This means you'll need to gain around 17 ranks each week.
Triumph Over Fortress: Brace yourself for the new area control game mode called Fortress. Matches in this mode can be intense and often go to full time, making them longer than usual. Prepare for epic battles and strategic gameplay to secure victory.
Timeframe
Game Duration: On average, an Iron Banner match lasts about 10 minutes, including the time spent queuing and other related activities.
Reputation Gain: Winning a match in Iron Banner rewards you with 300 XP, while losing grants you 220 XP.
Considering these factors, if you were to participate in 34 wins and 40 losses, it would take approximately 12 hours of gameplay to reach the required rank for acquiring the Iron Countershade shader. Keep in mind that getting more losses than wins is common in this mode.
Conclusion
